Networked Attached Storage (NAS) means that the computer used for data storage is dedicated for storage and is accessible by the home computer network such as wifi, or hard wired as typically used for businesses. The NAS is always on – 24/7 or can be put on a power schedule or can be set to go to sleep when it is not used for a long time.
